Cartoon Overlap Text EffectIf you have a project you are working on that requires a fun type of text effect, then the cartoon overlapping text is a great effect to use. In this photoshop tutorial, we'll learn how to create a cartoon text where the letters overlap (and underlap) each other.1. Open up a new document in Photoshop and make sure the canvas is a size that is easy to type your text. 2. Select the Type tool, choose a font, and type your first letter. ![]() 3. Open the Layer Properties. 4. Change the "Drop Shadow" properties to the following: ![]() 5. Change the "Inner Shadow" properties to the following: ![]() 4. Change the "Stroke" properties to the following: ![]() 5. Click OK. 6. Select the Move Tool. 7. Hold down the CTRL key and drag a duplicate of the letter to the right. ![]() 8. Select the Type tool and change the duplicate letter to whatever the next letter should be in the word you are making. In this case, I am writing the word Cartoon, so I will make an "a" for the next letter. ![]() 9. Open the Layer Properties for the new letter. 10. Change the "Cover Overlay" properties to the following: (Color is optional, you can choose whichever color you want). ![]() 11. Select the Move Tool and move the letter down to give it a bouncy look. 12. Then move the layer for the new letter below the letter before it. ![]() 13. Repeat Steps 6 thru 12 to create the next letter in the word, but this time move the layer above the letter before it. ![]() 13. Continue to repeat this process from steps 6 thru 12. Alternating the letters above and below, depending on the letter before it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 17.
