Spiral Ring Text EffectIn this tutorial, we will learn to make spiral wrapped text. The effect also looks like 3D rings around the letters. I like using this tutorial most for Christmas, because it allows you to combine two separate colors together in an interesting way.1. Open a new document in Photoshop. 2. Choose a font and type out the letters you want for the spiral ring text effect. ![]() 3. Select the Magic Wand tool and click the area outside of the text. 4. Goto Select > Inverse. 5. Goto Select > Modify > Expand. Choose 2 pixels. ![]() 6. Create a new layer. Name it "Spirals". 7. Select the Paint Bucket tool and fill the selection white a different color. ![]() 8. Open the Layer Properties for the "Spirals" layer. 9. Change the "Inner Shadow" properties to the following: ![]() 10. Select the Eraser tool. Begin erasing the areas to create the spirals. ![]() 11. When you are done, you will have spirals wrapped around your letter. ![]() 12. Open the Layer Properties for the original TYPE layer that is below the Spirals layer. 13. Change the "Bevel and Emboss" properties to the following: ![]() 14. You are done. You should now have your spiral letter with all 3d effects applied. ![]() 15. Now apply the same principle to an entire word and you get the following effect. ![]() |
